Ok, so by now you probably know it was the Air Ship not the Jordan 1 that was banned by the NBA but lucky for Nike the Internet didn’t exist in 1985 – to the public anyhow- and they ran with it. What we witnessed as the end result from this commercial was the spark that created 30 + years –and counting- of hype and demand for the greatest basketball player of all times shoes and upped the level of competition for footwear design in the years to follow from 0-100 REAL QUICK.
