Statistically this is easily Wade’s greatest season. Fresh off an Olympic gold medal, Wade was playing like a man possessed. Which was exactly what his team needed, as the Heat were devoid of talent outside of Flash. Wade’s 08/09 carries major weight historically. As at the time only three men (Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, LeBron James) had managed to average 30/5/7 over the course of a season. This season put Wade back on the map as his previous years were saddled by injury. For his efforts he was elected to the All-NBA First Team and All-NBA Defensive Second Team.
