Essentially making the greatest product placement song ever, My adidas by Run-DMC is an iconic song where just about any raps from this song would have been appropriate, so I chose the one that I feel best relates to the sneakerhead community. A sportswear company giving a million-dollar endorsement contract to a non-athlete was completely unheard of. Doubly so for entertainers of a very young, new genre of music that was rap/hip hop. Reverend Run, Darryl Matthew McDaniels, and DJ Jam Master Jay are responsible for the adidas Superstar being an icon in the culture.
