Seventeen seasons. Ten NBA Finals appearances, eight of those in consecutive years. More than 34,000 points scored in upwards of 1,200 games. Zero intention of stopping.

LeBron James was a nationally hyped athlete when he was still in high school, gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated and anointed as “The Chosen One,” and an heir to Michael Jordan, years before he was even old enough to legally buy beer.

His career has exceeded every expectation placed on his broad shoulders, and he’s now added another notch to his belt, one of the most glittering accomplishments in his chosen field: bringing NBA Championship glory back to the Los Angeles Lakers.

We’ve been fortunate enough to watch him play for close to two decades, watched history unfold as one of the greatest basketball players in history went to work day in, day out.

Over those years LeBron has evolved, from a lanky kid who found his feet from his very first night in the NBA to an unstoppable freight train; from Cleveland to Miami then back to Cleveland and finally to the bright lights of Los Angeles; from phenom to parent.

And every step of the way, his sneaker line has evolved right alongside his game and his off-court life.

Jordan debuted plenty of his signature shoes come playoff time, but LeBron couldn’t wait, unveiling the newest iteration of his namesake shoe in the NBA Bubble back in July.

Nike is proud of its work with the construction of the LeBron 18: according to designer Jason Petrie, the brand “(got) near-surgically detailed on these features so that the sum of the shoe’s parts come together for LeBron, and for every kind of player.”

Support is a big focus of the LeBron 18. Cushioning comes from a full-length Zoom Air Bag which extends into the heel cavity, to combine with the Air Unit for the first time in a Nike basketball shoe.

On top, the shoe’s upper is an amalgam of knit materials used in past LeBron models that’s resulted in what Nike says is a lightweight and durable fabric that keeps the foot where it needs to be.

The latest colorway, called ‘Home,’ gives Lakers fans something to rock with their Lake Show jerseys. The black knit upper and deep purple heel counter and pull tabs contrast with an eye-catching gold Swoosh on the medial ankles and lateral toes for a real feel of royalty.

A predominantly black upper gives way to white mudguards boasting blue Swooshes, while a semi-transparent heel counter covers a multi-colored, graffiti-style “James Gang” across the rear of the shoes.

The ‘Multi’ colorway, which released on 10/9, pays tribute to James’ wife Savannah and their three kids, Bronny, Bryce Maximum and Zhuri in the funky patterns we’ve come to expect from the fledgling “James Gang” colorway releases.

Evolve your game and your on-court rotation like the Chosen One himself when the Nike LeBron 18 ‘Home’ lands in Men’s and Big Kids’ sizing at FinishLine.com on 10/23.
