Happy birthday to ‘3’: Celebrate the iconic Reebok signature model’s 25th anniversary with an OG colorway
There’s absolutely no arguing the impact that Hall of Famer Allen Iverson had on the NBA, both on and off the court.
From carrying the 76ers to the Finals in 2001 to being a catalyst for the late David Stern instituting a player dress code, A.I.’s presence and influence was undeniable.
And his original signature shoe with Reebok was just as eye-catching as his handle and his off-court fits. The Question, which debuted with “The Answer” in 1996, is no stranger to retro releases.
But to celebrate its 25th anniversary — albeit a little early — Reebok is taking it back to a classic colorway from the OG release.
The Question Mid O.G. Red Toe, available on 8/21, incorporates the very same tumbled white leather upper, Hexalite cushioning and icy blue translucent outsole. The Reebok Vector logo appears in red trimmed with blue on the lateral and tongues.
But there’s one unique 90s-style design feature that makes this one special pair of retros: red suede overlays on the toes.
Only the first 5,000 pairs of Question Mids were made with suede before Reebok switched to a pearlized toe. This was because the dye from the suede bled through to Iverson’s feet during games, making them look like they were bleeding afterwards.
You can cop a reissue of one of those rare pairs from the 90s when the Reebok Question Mid ‘O.G. Red Toe’ drops in Men’s, Big Kids’ and Toddler sizing at FinishLine.com on 8/21.
