Throwback Thursday: The Greatest ‘90s College Basketball Shoes of All Time
- Allen Iverson (Georgetown) – Air Jordan XI
Watching AI slice and dice through defenders back in ’96 was a thing of beauty. The fact that he was rocking the greatest sneaker ever made was icing on the cake. And, the fact that those navy/grey Hoyas jerseys were so fire was the cherry on top. When Bubba Chuck was rocking Jordans, it seemed like he could leap 2 inches higher. When Iverson signed with Reebok instead of Nike heading into the NBA, Reebok couldn’t help but create a sneaker that had a striking resemblance to the XI. The XI is so timeless and the technology was so good, both professionals and college players still wear them over 20 years later.
