adidas & Parley Continue Fight Against Plastic Waste
For the better part of the last few years adidas and Parley for the Oceans have championed the fight against marine plastic waste. Together, the duo have brought several world-changing sneaker collabs to the market, with each shoe being made with yarn made from recycled waste (the waste is intercepted from beaches and coastal communities before it reaches the oceans).
This time around, the NMD_R1 STLT is getting the Parley treatment. Known for its ‘80s racing heritage, this NMD boasts a minimalist design and supportive, socklike fit. Off jump you’ll notice the striking black Primeknit upper which features contrasting ‘blue spirit’ yarn accents. Complementing the eye-pleasing upper is a black BOOST midsole. Signature NMD plugs and adi branding complete this blacked out option.
As mentioned before this shoe utilizes yarn made from recycled waste. By 2024 the intent is that all adidas products will utilize repurposed ocean plastic (adi produces roughly 450 million pairs of shoes annually). Together adidas and Parley are truly spinning the problem into a solution.
Do your part and stay #boosted with the adidas NMD_R1 STLT Parley on November 7th at Finish Line.
