As comfy as my sneakers are, a lot of times after my workout I just want to go home in a fresh pair of socks with sandals. The fashion world may frown upon this, but the sport’s world certainly does not. After an outdoor run in my Frees, I slipped into my Benassi Slides – a staple in my closet and a lifesaver during tournaments.

The thing about wearing sneakers with a dress is running the risk of looking like Melanie Griffith in Working Girl (no judgment here – it was a brilliant idea in the making). It’s a great way to tone down an outfit, and the key to making it work is finding a balance. I prefer low-cut sneakers with sleeker dress silhouette.

I spent my weekend in the brainstorming room at the office. Although I knew I would probably be alone, I did not want to get caught looking lazy by anyone. I wore wide leg trousers with a tank top and Nike slides. The pink added some color to my otherwise-dark outfit.

On a scorching afternoon, I rocked my Frees with an oversized mesh jersey over denim cutoffs and a sports bra underneath. Frees are really easy to wear with most outfits, and have the added bonus of obvious comfort. Double win.
