Basketball season may be winding down, but the heat from Nike Basketball is still going strong. Two of their most prominent athletes, LeBron James and Paul George, are getting some additions to their signature lines.

Nike LeBron XVI Low ‘NBA Draft’

We’re rapidly approaching LeBron’s 16th Anniversary of his draft night. Nike is commemorating the occasion with this pair of the LeBron XVI Low. Coming dressed with a white upper, the shoe is beautifully accented by Metallic Gold and University Red accents. The insoles of the shoes feature the date ‘6-26,’ a direct callout to Bron’s 2003 draft day. The icy blue sole completes this summer-perfect colorway.

Nike LeBron XVI Low ‘SuperBron’

This low cut take, draws inspiration from the Zoom LeBron 3 ‘SuperBron.’ Like that infamous colorway, this colorway features Superman’s notorious red, yellow and blue. This colorway is the third ‘SuperBron’ take LBJ has had this year. As two LeBron XVI’s with similar makeup released earlier this year.

Nike PG 3

Paul George and Nike stay coming with the flavors. This time around George’s signature shoe is getting some sweet iridescent detailing. This predominantly black colorway is paired with a Grey outsole. The aforementioned iridescent detailing is present on the midfoot straps and the lateral side Swoosh.

You can pick up both Nike LeBron XVI Low’s and the Nike PG 3 on 5/24 at Finish Line.

Paul George and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s season may be over, but Nike and PG are still coming strong with the flavors for George’s fourth signature shoe, the Nike PG 3. The sentiment behind this latest release is strong. Dubbed the PG 3 ‘Paulette,’ this special colorway celebrates Mother’s Day and more specifically, PG’s mother, Paulette.

A dark, almost obsidian textile upper is contrasted by a Light Grey midsole and suede heel patch. The heel patch has the letter “P” embroidered, a nod to both Paul’s first name and his mother’s. Fuschia accents on the laces, tongue, eyelets and outsole give the colorway a softer, nice gender neutral touch. The insole of the shoe features a red ribbon. The ribbon is a symbol for stroke awareness. Paulette unfortunately suffered a stroke when Paul was just six years old. Since that time Paul has made it a personal mission of his to raise money and awareness for stroke’s and stroke survivors.

Add the Nike PG 3 ‘Paulette’ to your rotation on 5/11 from Finish Line.

Dominating on both ends of the court, Paul George is in the midst of a career year. His stellar play has him in the conversation for both MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. As George has reached new levels of efficiency on-court he wants the same for signature line. Asking Nike Footwear Designer Tony Hardman to make the PG3 faster. That’s asking what Hardman did, removing all unnecessary layers from the shoe. Instead focusing on three core principles. Traction (better grip, both ways), Fit (sleek and seamless), Weight (lighter, faster, softer). The three principles reflect George’s change in play since joining the Oklahoma City Thunder. This latest colorway comes subtly dressed in black with a white midsole. It’s all complemented by an ice blue sole.

Growing up, your days are filled with dreams and imagination and it’s all fueled by an ‘unwavering curiosity of the unknown.’ In collaboration with NASA, the latest drop from Nike and Paul George focuses on that idea and dreams big. The Nike PG 3 ‘NASA’ embraces the spirit of exploration. George’s affinity for space started with his childhood. He grew up in Palmdale, California. The home of NASA’s Armstrong Building 703, which is an aeronautical research center. Embracing George’s roots, inspiration from the facility was infused into the PG 3 NASA ‘Total Orange.’

Coming dressed in ‘Total Orange,’ the upper of the shoe is reminiscent of the classic astronaut flight suit. Black & silver accents on the shoe further the homage to the suit. The midsole foam is lighter than before and paired with a forefoot Zoom Bag. Carried over from the PG 2, the forefoot “wings” will lock your foot down. One of George’s favorite quotes graces the heel of the shoe (‘Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit when there are footprints on the moon’) and brings the image of lunar exploration full-circle. Continuing that personal connection, details from PG’s life (birthday, jersey numbers worn, number of tattoos) are featured inside the circular traction pattern.

The NBA Playoffs kicked off a week ago and it hasn’t been anything short of pure excitement, unless you’re a Trail Blazers, Spurs, or Heat fan. Paul George and the Thunder have been in a heated  back and forth battle with the Utah Jazz and their series may be one of the more surprising ones. Even though OKC has their backs against a wall, Nike is still pumping out colorways of the PG 2. Dubbed the ‘Taurus’ colorway, this new look comes dressed in a White, Black, and Solar Red combination with the Taurus constellation placed on its left tongue in honor of George’s May 2nd birthday.

Being from Los Angeles, Paul George grew up being a Lakers fan and trying to the play the game like the legend, Kobe Bryant. When Kobe was doing his farewell tour, he was giving inspiration and personal challenges to players around the league who he thought had the “mamba mentality” and PG was one of them. Since Paul George has been marked with this killer instinct, Nike is ready to recognize that tenacity with the PG 2 ‘Mamba Mentality’ edition that features a colorway and design inspired by some of the more notable Nike Kobe releases of the past. This PG 2 comes dressed in a Cannon, Volt, and Purple Venom colorway that is as unique as the detailing it features. This one of a kind court sneaker features a full Purple upper that is highlighted with graphics that were used on the upper of the Kobe 6. The all over creativity is complimented by the Crimson inner sock liner, Neo-Blue laces and pops of  Volt on the Swoosh and PG logo.

Paul George debuted his second signature sneaker back in January in a Saturday game against the Cleveland Cavaliers and put on a show. Nike and George had one of the best hoop sneakers last year with the Nike PG 1 and now they hope that success will continue with the PG 2. This new signature sneaker features a mix of suede and mesh materials on the upper, an interior bootie system, forefoot Zoom Air, and a new traction pattern. Covered in a mixture of blues, along with orange and white accents, the sneaker is simply more sleek than the first version with a mesh upper and suede overlays along the heel. A bootie sock-like collar is a new addition to the style. Zoom Air cushioning, Swoosh logos on the toe and midsole, Paul George’s logo on the tongues and a marbled rubber outsole completes the design altogether.

When it comes to NBA All-Star Weekend, Nike never holds back on their story telling and sneaker releases that are usually some of the biggest of the year. 2018 is going to be no different from Nike Hoops as they look to drop special signature sneakers that will be worn in the All-Star game that is taking place in the ever popular, Los Angeles. As their big four of Kyrie Irving, Paul George, Kevin Durant and LeBron James look to dominate the game with their style of play and their signature sneaker style, Nike is getting extra creative for this moment. Each sneaker represents a part of the city through a special colorway or standout feature to really catch peoples eyes.

Kyrie Irving and Nike Basketball will be celebrating this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles with a special edition Nike Kyrie 4 All-Star as Kyrie makes his fifth appearance in the game. This Nike Kyrie 4 sports a black and white tie-dye pattern throughout the upper. What makes this sneaker really pop is the purple details that are used on the embroidered Nike Swoosh, while pink and blue appears on the tongue Kyrie logo and outsole. Like the KD X, this pair represents another specific location in Los Angeles, as the insoles have graphics of Venice Beach. They also point out that Kyrie is a “5x All-Star” on the insoles of the sneakers.
