Home / Air Jordan Retro 13

Being a part of Jordan Brand is a special honor that not many get the honor of. The elite club of Jordan athletes, entertainers, and musicians who are on that special roster get their special pick of product, dope events, and even some get their own retro collaboration or signature model. Like we saw at the Super Bowl, Justin Timberlake got his own special iteration of the Jordan 3 and now Carmelo Anthony is getting his own version of the Air Jordan 13. This special retro is a part of the ‘Back To School’ collection that honors the respective alma maters of Jordan family members Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony.

This smooth Retro 13 is the final piece of the ‘Back to School’ collection and some may even say that it’s the best one yet. Donning the colors of Melos high school, Oak Hill Academy, this Jordan pays homage in the perfect fashion. The Oak Hill Academy is known as one of the best high schools for basketball in the entire country with alumni the likes of Anthony, Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo, and more. Sticking with the theme of the entire pack, this Jordan 13 ushers in a Black, University Red, and University Gold color scheme to match the Warriors of Oak Hill, while opting to add sporty satin and suede details for another premium aesthetic. Like the other two entrants in this pack, its insole sports ‘Class of 2002’ on the right sneaker with Melo’s signature Jordan Brand logo placed on the right. These are perfect for the upcoming fall months.

Grab your pair of the KIDS SIZES of the Air Jordan Retro 13 ‘Class Of 2002’ on September 15th at Finishline.com with Free Shipping. The Men’s Air Jordan Retro 13 is no longer launching in the marketplace and will NOT BE AVAILABLE in stores or online.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 20 years since ‘He Got Game’ hit theaters as one of the most iconic basketball movies ever – no debate. The film not only showed a side of basketball that people sweep under the rug but was a debut for an Air Jordan shoe that Mike hadn’t even worn on the court yet. He Got Game came out on May 1st, 1997 and it wasn’t until October 31st, 1997 when the Chicago Bulls played the Boston Celtics that Jordan broke out the Air Jordan 13s on court at the Fleet Center in Boston. Leave it to Spike to have a pair of J’s before MJ. Thanks to Spike Lee and Denzel Washington, we were already accustomed to the shoe before that night, thanks to so many scenes in the movie.

In the film, Jake Shuttlesworth had just gotten out of jail and needed some new kicks, so he hit up a store and the associate helping him steps out of the back with a clean silver box and he kneels down to get on Jake’s level and whips out the right shoe. The look on Jake’s face is somewhere between shock & awe and  hell yeah, not to mention they were “one-fiddy” after tax. From there on out you rarely saw Denzel in the movie without the shoes on his feet. The iconic scene of him playing Jesus (Ray Allen) one on one spoke volumes in what it meant to both characters and the footwear stood out.

Hyped as “the lightest Air Jordan ever made,” the 13 became the first sneaker in Nike’s history to be designed on a computer, using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator on an Apple Macintosh. The Jordan 13 wasn’t like anything before it and it was debuted to the world unlike any other sneaker then which is probably why it became an instant classic.

Last month we got another ‘He Got Game’ inspired sneaker with the Air Jordan Retro 1 that honored the anniversary with the colorway paying homage to the Lincoln High jerseys in the movie. Now, the pair everyones been waiting for is almost here. This Retro 13 comes with all its original details intact, from the White and Black tumbled leather upper to the rich suede on the bottom half of the upper to the classic Red, White and Black podular outsole and holographic bubble.

While MJ was infamous for wearing Red and Black during his years with the Chicago Bulls, Royal Blue is also a familiar color that Jordan Brand likes to use on his Airness’ signature sneaker line. It’s been used on the Air Jordan Retro 1, 6, 10, 17, and 18 in their true form. Now, the clean, complimentary color is hitting the Air Jordan Retro 13. Some people may be thinking that these have already released, because they are very similar to a PE version that Quentin Richardson wore during his time with the New York Knicks and Orlando Magic. The Air Jordan 13 Retro is set to have a large and heavy presence in 2018 as Jordan Brand will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of one of the more artful designs of the Air Jordan legacy.

This Retro comes dressed in a simple White and Hyper Royal color scheme that is perfect for the spring and summer months. With a White leather upper and Royal Blue suede overlays sitting atop a Black and White rubber sole you’ll be able to rock these with any outfit.

Make sure you add the Air Jordan Retro 13 ‘Hyper Royal’ to your rotation on March 3rd and cop your pair from Finishline.com.

Growing up, I was as athletic as the boys. In fact, I remember playing street hockey on rollerblades with all the boys in my neighborhood. For basketball and soccer games, I would wear an NBA headband across my forehead with a tight, low ponytail hanging behind it. I was everything tomboy.

But as I got older and my body changed, I put the tomboy clothes away and wanted to be “pretty” like all the other girls. In my 20’s I found my true sense of style. I like to call it “sexy-tomboy,” because I bring a little bit of raciness to my boyish swag.

I’m a professional soccer player, so I live a very active lifestyle. Style is my expression and connection between who I am and what I do. Sneakers are a huge part of my lifestyle and lucky for me, they’re also part of my daily work attire.

I’ve lived in and around Chicago my entire life. I was raised watching Michael Jordan take over the world and bring championships and greatness back to our city. We have such a rich history of sports here. Which is why it’s so special to me to have been drafted by the Chicago Red Stars out of college and play for my own city! It is also why Jumpman is a huge part of my personal style. I love to bring it to soccer culture because the soccer scene is widely filled with the same ethnicities, styles and brands. I stand out in who I am, how I look and my sense of style. And I love to stand out!

There is nothing that brings me more confidence than knowing exactly who I am and loving every bit of it. Oh, and also a fresh pair of sneakers paired with a graphic tee. The Jordan 1’s are my all-time favorite silhouette, but I love the vibes of the Air Jordan Retro 13’s. The wheat colorway gives them such a cool, street style feel. When in doubt, a graphic T is always the answer. As for the hat, training all the time can make for some bad hair days.

I am currently in my offseason for soccer. During this time, I love to find new movements and types of training to push my body to the limit. This is why I have fallen in love with the Nike VaporMax. They meet both my style and training needs.

I can wear these sneakers throughout any workout adventure I embark on and expect to get the most out of my body. All-white is my favorite colorway to train in, a superstition of some sorts. And, it makes all the difference in my training to know I look good. Because… look good, feel good, play good!

To me, sneakers represent style, confidence and expression of self. They represent where I come from and where I want to go. And through the ups and the downs, wherever this life takes me, I’ll always be just a goofy girl from the Chi with a pair of sneakers on my feet.

Keep up with Sarah on Instagram.

JB is coming out strong to start 2018. Jordan Brand has made it known that they will be doing releases and designs differently this year and they’re already showing it with the first retro release of the year. Olive colorways are no stranger to the Jumpman, but for the first time ever, the colorway will be hitting the Jordan Retro 13. The “Olive” colorway, originated back in 1994 with the Air Jordan IX, is now starting the 2018 lineup.

This Retro 13 will come dressed in a black,  red, and light olive makeup that is very similar to the Retro 9 ‘Olive’ pair. The shoe features a premium black suede upper instead of its usual mesh and leather build. Light olive appears on the midsole and heel and is complimented with hits of red accents on the branded areas on the tongue and toe.

Make sure you grab your pair of the Air Jordan Retro 13 ‘Olive’ on January 20th at Finishline.com.
