A First for the Kiddos: Reebok Releases a Collab with Peppa Pig

Yeah, you read that right. Reebok x Peppa Pig comin’ at you. In partnership with Hasbro, Reebok x Peppa Pig is dropping a kids-only collection filled with multichromatic and energetic silhouettes for the muddy puddle loving little ones.

What goes into a creation like this? Well we got to kick it (pun intended) with two of the good people from Reebok to give us the inside scoop on this collab. Shoutout to Jennifer Jodoin, Kids Footwear Project Manager, and Christopher Morales, Global Footwear Designer, for dedicating some time to us.

The Fresh Press: What’s the best part about bringing the Peppa Pig universe to life on a sneaker?

Reebok: I found the research and selecting the specific nuance details that only Peppa Pig fans (or parents) would understand super satisfying. We also didn’t forget to include details that’ll invite new Peppa Pig fans so they may enjoy the collection as well. I must have had it on in the background for a straight two weeks haha

The Fresh Press: How do you go about selecting the right models for a collaboration like this one?

Reebok: We wanted this collaboration to have a wide variety of silhouettes as well as price points. It was important for us to be able to create a collection for all budgets. This collection comes from our lifestyle range with both running and court silhouettes.

The Fresh Press: How does the design team approach collaborations like Peppa Pig or the Minions collection we saw last fall?

Reebok: Research and spending time to truly understand Peppa Pig and fans was critical. Gathering as much insight into the show as previously mentioned so the product connects with the consumer makes all the difference. From there, we’re able to finally get creative and solve how we can bridge Reebok heritage with the Peppa Pig universe.

The Fresh Press: Does “kid approval” play a role in the design process in kid-exclusive collections like these?

Reebok: It’s everything. Kids are our target consumers and making them feel great with what’s on their feet is the main focus. From comfort to confidence we’d like to provide as much value as possible. 

Let’s dive into the fun part, the footwear!

We love a slip on shoe for the kids. Easy on, easy off, and off they go! The Club C Slip On was created for all the tots that love to play dress up. The perfect Princess sneaker. With hits of pink, a crown, and glitter, this toddler exclusive model is sure to be a winner.

Loud and vivacious like Peppa herself, the CL Jogger is reminiscent of Peppa and her teddy. Where she goes, Teddy follows. This model features a Velcro strap with Teddy’s face for easy access. We are really loving the cozy fur around the heel collar for a cute and fun touch.
