Community Voices: Julius Randle discusses the importance of education opportunities in low-income communities
As a part of our commitment and responsibilities as an ally, we intend to highlight and amplify black voices within our community. Each week we will be introducing you to a new guest who will be diving into important topics about the #BlackLivesMatter movement. On this week’s episode, we connect with New York Knicks forward Julius Randle to discuss the importance of ensuring that low-income communities have access to education opportunities.
— Growing up, education was a huge focus for you and your mother. Can you talk about how she made it such a priority for you?
— In a feature you did with the Undefeated, you talked about the importance of making sure all kids have opportunity for success. Why is education such an important part of that opportunity?
— You have been very focused on ensuring that kids in lower-income areas have all the equipment they need to succeed during the remote learning that is occurring. How did you get so involved in this issue, and why is it so important to you?
