Community Voices: Knicks forward Moe Harkless speaks to the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses
As a part of our commitment and responsibilities as an ally, we intend to highlight and amplify black voices within our community. This week we linked up with New York Knicks forward Moe Harkless about the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses.
— During the BLM fight against social injustice, and Covid-19, you changed your personal website to become a resource for Black-owned industries and businesses. How did you come up with the decision to do that, and why did you think it was important?
— One of the big discussions we have had on CV is around the importance of mental health, which we noticed is a prominent topic on your site. Why do you feel discussing mental health is so important for the Black community?
— Registering to vote is another important topic you are bringing information to on your site. Why is that a focus for you on the site?
–Your site is also a great resource for Black-owned restaurants, authors, businesses and much more. Talk about the importance of giving visibility to all of these industries and individuals at this time.
