The Nike Zoom Freak 2 is designed to unlock new explosiveness on offense
Superstar Milwaukee forward Giannis Antetokounmpo would ordinarily be spending August on vacation or in the gym, fine-tuning his craft during the offseason. But not this year.
The NBA is back in action after a four-month hiatus, and the “Greek Freak” is on a mission to bring the Eastern Conference-leading Bucks to the promised land.
And what better time than the NBA season restart to unveil the new edition of his signature Nike Basketball shoe, the Zoom Freak 2, a sneaker built for instant offense.
Senior creative director for the Swoosh’s hoops division, Ross Klein, says while the first iteration of the Zoom Freak was designed to help Antetokounmpo get vertical, the sequel looks to help him command the entire court.
The Zoom Freak 2 incorporates a Zoom Air module in the forefoot, with a lightweight foam heel for added support when driving to the rack. Meanwhile the upper is constructed from materials that have enough flex to accommodate explosive movement in the heat of the action.
“The shoe shouldn’t restrict him, but help him move as naturally as possible,” Klein says.
Now you can not only add Giannis’s killer Eurostep to your arsenal, but his second signature model as well, when the Nike Zoom Freak 2 arrives at FinishLine.com next week.
