Nike’s new Air Max 2090 colorways will take you through a time warp

For decades, Nike’s signature Air Max line has appealed to men, women and kids alike. And since the birth of the Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Max 1 in 1987, “innovation” has been the name of the game for the Oregon-based sneaker giant.

That hunger to innovate continues to drive the brand, and one look at the newly unveiled Air Max 2090 will remove any doubt about Nike’s intentions to keep pushing design boundaries.

The 2090, which dropped on Air Max Day (3/26), represents a big leap forward for the Air Max lineage while still paying homage to the iconic silhouettes of yesteryear. Nike’s vision was for the shoe to bring Air back to its roots through “minimalism that emphasizes beauty,” a goal they’ve achieved and then some.

Now the hyper-modern 2090 model will be available in new colorways. The men’s release boasts color hits of Nike’s unmistakable Volt on a black-and-white upper that also features a Blue Force-tinted tongue tag and rear midsole incorporating the Air unit cassette.

Girls will be able to cop their size in their own style. Platinum Tint features heavily with pops of Blackened Blue and Watermelon.

In women’s sizing, Nike is offering a fun Easter colorway that boasts an upper in black and Lotus Pink with teal detailing that releases later in April.
