A healthy LeBron James and the additions of Anthony Davis, Danny Green and DeMarcus Cousins has expectations sky high in Los Angeles. Lakers faithful are pronouncing that Showtime (the nickname given to the Lakers during the Magic/Kareem era) is back and they have their eyes set on the Larry O’Brien trophy. With the season set to tipoff on October 22nd, Nike is releasing their first Lakers themed colorway of the LeBron 17.
Coming dressed in black, the model’s new Knitposite upper provides breathability, support and the perfect base for this colorway. Eggplant and Amarillo yarns are woven into the black jewel-like upper. The result is a swirl, almost Versaceish pattern. Comfort is no issue thanks to the Max Air heel bag and the forefoot Air Zoom units. Utilizing the tongue as a storytelling vehicle, LeBron’s signature lion graces the tongue of the shoe along with his crown. The 330 (Ohio) & 213 (Los Angeles) area codes are also featured on the tongue. A symbol of the journey, the King has taken from the start of his NBA career.
