It’s been quite the off season for Kyrie Irving; headlining free agency by leaving the Boston Celtics for the Brooklyn Nets and signing to Roc Nation for his new representation. Now that Irving has found his new home for the next couple of years, Nike has been diving into some new colorways that will go with the Nets jerseys and some others that represent Kyrie’s life off the court. Last season, the Nets debuted their City Edition uniforms that honored Notorious B.I.G. through the colorful trim that was meant to replicate the COOGI sweater he wore in a now infamous portrait. With Kyrie on his way to Brooklyn, this next Kyrie 5 would match those special jerseys perfectly. This pair features a Blacked-out mesh upper that is complemented with subtle Grey hits on the toe box, tongue and SWOOSH on the lateral sides of the shoe. The real eye catcher of the shoe is found on the sole as it’s done in six different colors. The rainbow vibe on the sole brings a real pop of color to the clean Black sneaker. To finish off the design, Kyrie’s logo and signature are printed on the insoles of the shoes in a vibrant Green print.
