Aaliyah 2001: She Was That Somebody
The Voice:
Aaliyah’s voice was as heavenly as her appearance. The singer had a soprano range and worked with producers such as Timberland and Missy Elliot on her final and third album. Releasing 15 years ago, the songs on “Aaliyah” are still being played and definitely still relevant in the music scene. The young artist was ahead of her time and knew how to evolve her sound as she evolved in life. Aaliyah started out as a tomboy teenager, but by the time her last album released in 2001, everyone could see the confident woman she had become and her music reflected that growth.
