7. Hakeem Olajuwon (Houston Rockets, 1984)
via @CNN
Hakeem “The Dream” put on a show for the city of Houston in college and for the Rockets. Standing at 7 feet tall, Olajuwon was a force on both sides of the ball. His supreme defensive ability combined with savvy moves in the low post (better known as the “Dream Shake”) make him considered as one of the greatest centers to ever play the game.
He led the Rockets to back to back titles in 1994 and 1995 and was named Finals MVP both times averaging a double-double. Olajuwon is one of 4 players to ever record a quadruple-double, where he did it twice in the same month in 1990. He played his entire career besides one year for the Houston Rockets and is known as the greatest Rocket of all time.
Hakeem is #1 for all time blocks at 3,830, over 500 more than #2 on the list.
