2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Milwaukee Bucks, 1969)
It was tough deciding where to place Kareem on the list but he was the ultimate game changer. After very successful careers in high school and college racking up championships, he was drafted to the one year old franchise at the time, the Milwaukee Bucks.
Kareem played an astonishing 20 seasons in the NBA, 6 with the Bucks and 14 with the Los Angeles Lakers. He showcased a new shot that the NBA had not seen before and has not seen since, the “skyhook.” This midrange hook shot terrorized defenses as no one could stop it. (see photo)
Kareem was a 6 time NBA Champion (1 with MIL, 5 with LAL), 19 time All-Star, 6 time league MVP, and consistently voted on the All NBA Teams. He is the NBA’s all time leading scorer with 38,387 career points.
