Ice Cube – “It Was A Good Day”

Following in the footsteps of Kevin Garnett, though with more uncertainty due to not being a 7-foot monster, Kobe ushered in the high school-to-pro era.  Even then it’s hard not to believe a young Kobe picking a song that in the first verse alone brags about a triple double and makes comparisons to M.J.  After the Charlotte Hornets selected Bryant, Jerry West and the Lakers came calling, swinging a trade to bring Bryant out to the West Coast to team up with a free agent center by the name of Shaquille O’Neal.  Now that’s a good day.
