NBA Draft Walk-Up Songs – Class of ’96
9) Samaki Walker – Dallas Mavericks
Busta Rhymes – Woo Hah!! (Got You All In Check)
The pre-Mark Cuban Mavericks spent the entire decade of the ’90s with a losing record (literally) and generally just being terrible, and lottery picks like Louiville’s Walker were a big reason why. Walker was, let’s say, eccentric to put it nicely and Busta Rhyme’s debut, hyper, breakout single could not be more perfect match. The only thing Walker is more known for than that Draft night outfit is the time in 1999 Chris Mills was trying to score at the wrong end, but Samaki would have none of it and *blocked the shot*. Of the guy trying to score in the Mav’s basket. Seriously. No wonder Kobe punched him out in 2002.
