When it comes to Nike’s most futuristic innovations, VaporMax technology is unquestionably at the top of the list. The result of 7 long years of development and testing, VaporMax is known for its versatility, serving performance runners and weekend warriors equally. As the newest entry in the line, the VaporMax 2019 has retained the cushioning unit from prior models, but traded out the Flyknit upper for a new translucent woven-stretch material called Nexkin, just as lightweight and ventilated, but offering significantly more durability.
The new upper isn’t the only change though: there’s also a larger heel clip and underlying mid-foot lockdown system all created in response to feedback from runners, who lauded the cushioning but yearned for more support and stability from the upper as a whole. Highlighted by its translucent treatment upper with exposed seamed stitching in Black, the model is also detailed with a Golden internal cage that wraps the mid-foot for lockdown support. More Golden hits are added on the tongue branding, heel area and throughout the translucent VaporMax sole in a tinted theme to complete the look.
