When it comes to Air Jordans, very few are looked at as being the greatest of the great. With some colorways, no matter how often they are released some sneakerheads will buy them every time. We asked our #FNLfam what their favorite Jordan 3s of all time were. The word iconic gets thrown around a lot, especially in the sneaker world, but there are some sneakers that can hold that title undoubtedly. Styles like the Air Max 1, Air Jordan 1, Air Force 1, Air Jordan 11, Chuck Taylor All Star, and of course the Air Jordan 3. Back in ’88, the Air Jordan 3 was cooked up by “The Architect”, Tinker Hatfield and it was only the beginning of his and Michael Jordans infamous partnership. As most sneaker lovers would tell you, there are certain design aspects that make shoes stand out, others would say that it’s the big moments in culture or on the court and the Air Jordan 3 has all of those areas covered. From seeing that elephant print when a fresh pair was brought out of the box to MJ taking off from the free throw line and delivering the most iconic, gravity-defying moment in sports history, the Jordan 3 sits on a pedestal for a lot of people.

As years have passed and MJ has moved on from dominating the hardwood, his legacy lives on through his sneakers. Nostalgia is one of the biggest ways to take a person back to that very special moment when they first saw a sneaker or make them replay Mike taking off from the free throw line in their head and remembering it like it had just happened. Now, on the 30th anniversary of MJ’s legendary dunk contest performance, Jordan Brand is dropping the ‘Black Cement’ Retro 3 in true OG fashion. If you’re a diehard Jordan fan, then you already know that these shoes released originally in 1988, 1994, 2001, 2008 and lastly back in 2011. This may seem like overkill but this sneaker is one that can never be released enough.

Aside from being a court icon, the Air Jordan 3 became a pop culture legend over the years as it became the focus in numerous hip-hop lyrics and big moments. Jay-Z kicked off his Blue Print Tour in 2o09 with a fresh pair of ‘Black Cement’ 3’s. Jordans very own, Drake has name dropped the brand numerous times in his songs but one of his best is “I’m back in my bag. My eyes bloodshot but my jet don’t lag. A pair of Jordan 3’s tryna’ chase this cash. Gucci airbag just in case we crash.”

It seems like sneakerheads have been waiting for this drop for years, and now as we’re only a week away from it the biggest decision for you to make is how many you plan on coppin’. The release of the Air Jordan Retro 3 ‘Black Cement’ will come dressed in its original Black, Cement Grey, White and Fire Red color scheme that is so well known. They’ll come complete with classic ‘Nike Air’ branding at the heel and outsole that so many have been wanting over the years. To compliment the colorway you’ll see a fire red tongue lining which is a signature seen on the colorway to complete the legendary look for the ‘Black Cement’ 3s. The icing on the cake is that JB will be dropping these on MJ’s 55th birthday.

You can grab your pair of the Air Jordan Retro 3 ‘Black Cement’ on February 17th at Finishline.com and at your local store.

Jordan Brand is coming out swinging to start 2018 and they’re bringing out the heat to kick off the new year. As if JB wasn’t breaking enough peoples wallets over All Star Weekend by dropping the highly anticipated Air Jordan Retro 3 ‘Black Cement’, Air Jordan XXXII ‘Free throw Line’, Jordan Why Not Zer0.1, and now the Air Jordan Retro 1 High OG ‘NRG’ to be the icing on the cake. Back in December, JB shut the internet down when they debuted the Air Jordan 1 “Gold Top 3” that released at ComplexCon, and this next colorway is a compliment to that pair.

The Air Jordan Retro 1 High OG ‘NRG’ or ‘Gold Toe’, comes dressed up in a luxurious patent leather construction, mixing together white, gold, and black as they all compliment each other. You’ll notice that the color blocking is reminiscent of the brand’s mid 80’s aesthetic and gives the sneaker a nostalgic feel while its color scheme keeps it propelled forward into a different style appeal. With these being a must-have pair for many sneakerheads, we will be releasing these IN SELECT STORES & and with your best chance to cop being through the Finish Line app. Download the app now for Apple or GooglePlayTo find out if your local store will have them, you can check our Launch Locator on the release calendar, and you can call or drop by the store.

The story telling of All-Star Weekend continues from Jordan Brand as the Air Jordan Retro 9 joins the ‘City Of Flight’ group. This story began with the Air Jordan Retro 1 back in the beginning of January and will run up through ASW. Each shoe has the streets of L.A. mapped on the insoles of the shoes to honor the city in which the game is being hosted. The classic model features a clean and simple two-tone colorway in black nubuck and white leather with semi-translucent outsoles and what appear to be reflective-striped laces. They’re finished with a map of the LA area on the insoles. With so many releases happening around All-Star Weekend, you’re wallet better be ready and you better start deciding which ones you want.

You can grab the Air Jordan Retro 9 ‘City Of Flight’ on February 10th at Finishline.com.

Through the last couple of years, sneaker brands have celebrated and honored historic moments through colorways and special designs. While athletes have become more involved in what’s going on in the world, they have began to use their platform to make it known that they’re taking a stand on how they feel about certain causes. Nike has honored February and Black History Month with special colorways and designs on numerous styles and signature sneakers over the years. Jordan Brand’s 2018 Black History Month celebration will be centered around the colors of the Pan-African Flag. Red, Green, and Black are perfectly represented from the ankle collar all the way down to the tri-colored outsole on this updated version of the 1985 icon.

In the 26 years since Gatorade’s iconic Be Like Mike commercial first aired, millions of young athletes have done their best to emulate Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest athlete to ever walk the planet Earth.

Michael Crabtree of the Oakland Raiders spent his childhood trying to be like Mike and it came full circle when he was chosen as one of a select few NFL players to sign an endorsement deal with the Jordan Brand.  Along with sharing a first name with MJ, Crabtree has put together an impressive NFL career by attempting to bring Jordan’s competitive spirit and work ethic to the football field.

With Gatorade and Jordan Brand partnering to release a brand new Be Like Mike collection as well as the Air Jordan Retro 6 ‘Gatorade’, Crabtree spent an afternoon with Finish Line in Oakland, rocking the Retro 6 and the Be Like Mike Long-sleeve Tee.

Crabtree’s advice for anyone trying to be like Mike? “Be competitive. Be stylish. Be outta this world.”

The Air Jordan Be Like Mike Collection is available now and the Air Jordan Retro 6 ‘Gatorade’ will be available on December 16th at Finishline.com.

What better way to honor MJ’s accomplishments than by decking out a signature shoe in the colors of teams he beat to complete a three-peat. This special Air Jordan Retro 8 comes as part of the “Nothing But Net” pack that will include later releases this holiday season. The Air Jordan Retro 8 “Three Peat” honors the Bulls’ first three-peat championship season. In 1991 the Bulls defeated the Lakers, ’92 the Portland Trailblazers and ’93 the Phoenix Suns. Best part about it, is the colors that make-up the colorway are cues from each team that the Bulls defeated. The accent colors of Infrared 23, Bright Concord, and University Yellow all represent a fallen foe during the first three-peat: The Lakers (Yellow), the Blazers (Infrared), and the Suns (Purple).

We’ve never seen someone dedicate a colorway to the teams they defeated like we have with MJ. In the past he’s come out with Retro 1s that were donned in colors of teams that he had encountered during his career and had memorable moments against them. We saw colorways that were in Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks, and Seattle Supersonics. MJ battled all these teams through the 90’s and the strong competition led Mike to his path of greatness. The best detail about this Retro 8 is the circular Jumpman on the tongue has been replaced with the Larry O’Brien trophy, which he got over these three teams. Your little ones are probably too young to know anything about the story behind these kicks, but that doesn’t mean they can’t rock them with you since this shoe comes in family sizing.

Make sure you pick up the Air Jordan Retro 8 “Three-Peat” on October 24th at Finishline.com.
