Home / Nike PG 2

Back in the beginning of June, Paul George attended the popular video game tournament, E3 and while everyone was asking him what his plans were, sneaker lovers were noticing the new footwear he was rocking. George debuted the newest iteration of his signature line with the Nike PG 2.5. The new model fuses elements from both of George’s signature shoes, using a strap similar to the PG1 on an upper that otherwise resembles the Thunder star’s second sneaker. PG wanted to refresh his PG 2 and bring back the strap that was on the PG1 which allowed Nikesto approach the element in a different way. Instead of incorporating Flywire as they did on the original, they conceived a new strap for the PG 2.5 built from a new webbing. The next version to release comes dressed in a Black, Pure Platinum and Anthracite color scheme. This new PG 2.5 is highlighted with a midfoot strap similar to the PG 1. Its upper is fully done in Black while having Pure Platinum and Anthracite detailing. Adding contrast are Orange accents on the heel tab, inner tongue and outsole.

Even though Paul George and the Thunder’s season came to an unexpected end, the NBA Superstar is still dominating summer with his signature sneaker. The next pair that is set to drop is definitely pushing out some strong summer vibes with its ‘Hot Punch’ colorway. Dressed in an Anthracite, Hot Punch, White and Wolf Grey color scheme. This Nike PG 2 is highlighted with its gradient Nike Swoosh logo on the midsole. Those same colors are accented on the tongues, inner lining, insole and heel tab. Finishing off the design is a translucent outsole.

The NBA Playoffs kicked off a week ago and it hasn’t been anything short of pure excitement, unless you’re a Trail Blazers, Spurs, or Heat fan. Paul George and the Thunder have been in a heated  back and forth battle with the Utah Jazz and their series may be one of the more surprising ones. Even though OKC has their backs against a wall, Nike is still pumping out colorways of the PG 2. Dubbed the ‘Taurus’ colorway, this new look comes dressed in a White, Black, and Solar Red combination with the Taurus constellation placed on its left tongue in honor of George’s May 2nd birthday.

Being from Los Angeles, Paul George grew up being a Lakers fan and trying to the play the game like the legend, Kobe Bryant. When Kobe was doing his farewell tour, he was giving inspiration and personal challenges to players around the league who he thought had the “mamba mentality” and PG was one of them. Since Paul George has been marked with this killer instinct, Nike is ready to recognize that tenacity with the PG 2 ‘Mamba Mentality’ edition that features a colorway and design inspired by some of the more notable Nike Kobe releases of the past. This PG 2 comes dressed in a Cannon, Volt, and Purple Venom colorway that is as unique as the detailing it features. This one of a kind court sneaker features a full Purple upper that is highlighted with graphics that were used on the upper of the Kobe 6. The all over creativity is complimented by the Crimson inner sock liner, Neo-Blue laces and pops of  Volt on the Swoosh and PG logo.

The NCAA tournament is only a few weeks away and Nike Basketball is dropping a new colorway of the Nike PG 2 to celebrate the tournament. Being dubbed the Nike PG 2 ‘NCAA’, this new colorway of Paul George’s 2nd signature shoe with Nike features White on the majority of the upper, including the tongue, laces, inner liner, midsole, and the pull tabs. Black has been added for contrast on the midfoot as well as on the Swoosh logos that appear on the medial ankle and the lateral midsole. The highlight of this colorway is the multicolor marbled outsole which also features the PG logo in white. Another subtle pop on the upper is the 3M stripe that cuts down the center of the tongue. This pair’s standout feature is its marbled, multicolored outsole that combines red, blue, yellow, purple, and black which has a look similar to the ‘Net Collectors Society’ pack that dropped in 2016. Now you can watch your favorite school (if they’re in the tournament) or your top pick to win in PG style with these celebratory kicks.

Paul George debuted his second signature sneaker back in January in a Saturday game against the Cleveland Cavaliers and put on a show. Nike and George had one of the best hoop sneakers last year with the Nike PG 1 and now they hope that success will continue with the PG 2. This new signature sneaker features a mix of suede and mesh materials on the upper, an interior bootie system, forefoot Zoom Air, and a new traction pattern. Covered in a mixture of blues, along with orange and white accents, the sneaker is simply more sleek than the first version with a mesh upper and suede overlays along the heel. A bootie sock-like collar is a new addition to the style. Zoom Air cushioning, Swoosh logos on the toe and midsole, Paul George’s logo on the tongues and a marbled rubber outsole completes the design altogether.

When it comes to NBA All-Star Weekend, Nike never holds back on their story telling and sneaker releases that are usually some of the biggest of the year. 2018 is going to be no different from Nike Hoops as they look to drop special signature sneakers that will be worn in the All-Star game that is taking place in the ever popular, Los Angeles. As their big four of Kyrie Irving, Paul George, Kevin Durant and LeBron James look to dominate the game with their style of play and their signature sneaker style, Nike is getting extra creative for this moment. Each sneaker represents a part of the city through a special colorway or standout feature to really catch peoples eyes.

Kyrie Irving and Nike Basketball will be celebrating this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles with a special edition Nike Kyrie 4 All-Star as Kyrie makes his fifth appearance in the game. This Nike Kyrie 4 sports a black and white tie-dye pattern throughout the upper.
