Home / Kyrie Irving

The Nike Kyrie 5 debuted a few weeks back. So far this season we’ve seen several insane colorways on court, rocked by the shoe’s namesake. Another one is coming to shelves, with the release of the Nike Kyrie 5 ‘Multicolor.’ A navy upper is complemented by silver branding (Swoosh & signature Kyrie logo). The callout feature of this latest drop is the intergalactic, multicolor shroud. A clean white outsole balances out the colorful design.

As we learned with the initial release of the Kyrie 5, Irving wants the model to be “more honest,” with details from his personal life being integrated into each shoe. Such as the all-seeing eye on the back of the heel, his personal mantra “just be you” and a reminder from his father to stay “hungry and “humble” on the toes. The names of his mother, Elizabeth, and daughter, Azurie are also featured on the sides.

In the midst of his eighth NBA season, Kyrie Irving is enjoying another All-Star caliber year for the Boston Celtics. Constantly adding to his bag, the game has clearly slowed down for the young veteran and he’s able to get to his spots with ease. Much like his NBA career thus far, Kyrie’s next signature model is all about evolution. When asked by Nike to describe the Kyrie 5 to his younger self, ‘Uncle Drew’ hit them with one line: “look how far we’ve come.”

Once again teaming up with designer Benjamin Nethongkome, the Nike Kyrie 5 was designed to help Irving play quicker and sharper. The biggest technological advancement of the model is the new Air Zoom Turbo unit. Designed for quick start-and-stop play, the unit curves to the outsole and provides responsiveness in all directions. Ensuring your foot locks into the Air Zoom Turbo unit is the new containment system (which amplifies the response) is the the new containment system. Inspired by a venus flytrap, the upper was designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and improve the overall fit and feel of the shoe. The above mentioned sits atop a new traction pattern which draws inspo from the Hamsa tattoo on Kyrie’s left arm. That particular tattoo was chosen because it’s a shield of protection for Irving, shielding him from negative energy.

A man with a vision, Kyrie has ensured that the Kyrie 5 is going to be “more honest.” Going as far as to include details from his personal life on the shoe. Such as the all-seeing eye on the back of the heel, his personal mantra “just be you” and a reminder from his father to stay “hungry and “humble” on the toes. The names of his mother, Elizabeth, and daughter, Azurie are also featured on the sides. Recognizing the importance of relatability, he wants to use his latest model as a vehicle to tell stories (his and others). In that aforementioned Nike piece Kyrie said this: “People sometimes feel like they’re alone or they feel like they can’t connect to anyone. I want to come in and bridge that gap for them.” Strong words and a great message. Putting his money where his mouth is, for the Kyrie 5’s lifespan every colorway will bare Kyrie’s stamp of approval.

The Nike Kyrie line is going strong right now with the Kyrie 4 and Kyrie Low currently in circulation. Before turning attention to Kyrie 5, a new colorway of the Kyrie Low. A sleek black upper provides the canvas for this new colorway. The tongue is graced with Kyrie’s signature logo in orange and seafoam. That same seafoam graces the midsole and contrasts nicely against the standout marbled outsole. With the NBA lifting their color restrictions wouldn’t be surprised to see ‘Uncle Drew’ rocking these soon in a game.

Halloween is right around the corner. To celebrate the occasion, the Nike Kyrie 4 is getting a paranormal makeover. Rage Green accents immediately stand out, as the color graces the outsole, insole and tongue tab. It is also the color of the dripping slime graphic that graces the Swoosh and extends down the midsole. A grim black upper of nubuck and mesh serves as the canvas for this spooky colorway.

Nike and Kyrie Irving have been killing it with their inspirations for Kyrie 4 colorways. The Kyrie 4 Decades Pack is no exception. Taking characteristics from defining eras, each shoe features design elements that not only reflect that period in time but also Kyrie’s personality.

Coming dressed in black and laser fuschia, the Nike Kyrie 4 ‘80s utilizes neon fluorescent patterns that honor Kyrie’s “loud star-power with the ball.” While the Nike Kyrie 4 ‘90s boasts a clean white design and a funky internal bootie inspired by classic Saturday morning cartoons. Although the NBA offseason is in full swing, Kyrie Irving‘s signature shoe line doesn’t take any breaks. The elite point guard’s new Kyrie Low 1 debuted in late June, and is now set to arrive in a Southwestern-style ‘Amarillo’ colorway. The new shoe features a bright Yellow upper, with Black accents arriving on the textured forefoot strap, mid-foot Swoosh and Kyrie branding on the tongue. A raised pattern on the heel adds an extra touch of tonal flair, and the shoe is completed with a Black midsole and white outsole that boasts an interesting Black and Yellow target-style pattern.

2017-2018 didn’t exactly go as Kyrie and the Celtics had planned but with all the smoke settling from 2018 free agency, looks like they are gonna live to fight another day — and for another ring in Boston. Nothing better than some murdered out kicks to get back to business.

The all-black Kyrie 4 might be the next go-to sneaker in your rotation, featuring a black-on-black mesh upper, a black midsole with ‘wet’ detailing and a black and grey marble outsole.

Ahead of his first feature film release on June 29, Kyrie Irving and Nike will release a budding iteration of his fourth signature shoe inspired by the upcoming movie.Of course, there would be no Uncle Drew with Irving, but the hooping grandpa still deserves credit for one of the most compelling sports alter-egos we’ve ever been treated to. Dressed in White, this simplistic take on one of the world’s most popular basketball sneakers ushers in a boldly embroidered Blue Swoosh as well as a speckled pattern on its heel that wraps from the lateral side to the medial. Much to the delight of sneakerheads and Uncle Drew fans alike, it is finished off by a gum bottom outsole that creeps up onto the sneaker’s midsole by way of its customary outriggers. Speckled detailing marks the midsole while the summer centric gum outer plays well on the performance basketball shoe.

The next pair of Nike Kyrie 4’s to drop were debuted to the world by someone else than Kyrie Irving. When Jayson Tatum hit the court in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, he debuted the Nike Kyrie 4 ‘Power Is Female’ to the world. While Kyrie has been injured for the most of the second-half of the season, his teammates; Tatum and Terry Rozier have been breaking out some insane colorways of his signature shoe. This iteration of Kyrie Irving‘s fourth sneaker sees a mix of Aqua and Neo-turquoise along its upper. Orange speckles are added to the midsole as White is added to the outsole unit. A detailed message is added to the upper as the phrases ‘Power is Female’ and ‘We Are a New Generation’ are embossed throughout. The message continues on the heel with a basketball twist added to the female gender symbol.
