The Air Jordan line turned 25 with the Air Jordan 2010. For the special occasion Tinker Hatfield and Mark Smith joined up again for the 25th Air Jordan. A new face of the franchise emerged as well as Chicago native Dwyane Wade was a new member of Jordan Brand and called upon to introduce the shoe to the world. Unlike any basketball shoe ever made the Air Jordan 2010 featured a transparent thermoplastic urethane (TPU) window on both the sides that was inspired by Michael’s innate ability to see through opponents. Also the shoe featured the first-ever independent forefoot which was noticeably separate from the rest of the upper. This innovative design allows the Jordan 2010 to mimic the human foot’s flexibility and movement without being restricted by the structure of the shoe. The bottom loaded Zoom Air cushioning was a first for the line, a feature borrowed from running shoe. Couple all of these with the graphic lined asymmetrical collar, the Air Jordan 2010 is easily recognizable amongst the large Air Jordan line. Along with the standard version an outdoor version that removed the clear window, as well as Team versions released in 2010.
