Air Jordan Retro 6

Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 6 with this glowing ‘Electric Green’ edition

Almost three decades ago exactly, on June 11, 1991, Michael Jordan finally reached the promised land.

His Airness played all 48 minutes as his Chicago Bulls defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 108-101 in Game 5 to secure their first NBA Championship.

Jordan’s on-court performance in the series was one to remember. He averaged 31.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 11.4 assists and a couple steals a night as the Bulls won four straight after dropping the first contest on their home floor.

He also did it in style, wearing the sixth edition of his signature sneaker line.

Jordan had rolled out the Air Jordan 6 in the ‘Black/Infrared’ colorway for All-Star Weekend, but preferred the ‘White/Infrared’ pairs for the rest of the regular season.

When the postseason arrived, MJ switched back to the Black/Infrared colorway.

“And don’t think that wasn’t symbolic, either,” wrote SLAM Magazine’s Abe Schwadron. “He was about to dead not only whatever team stepped in his way, but also the growing chorus of critics.”

Jordan did just that, and the Bulls only dropped two games total that postseason on the way to the first chip of two threepeats.

We saw the return of the Black/Infrared AJ 6 in 2019, while the equally iconic ‘Carmine’ edition got a retro release earlier this year.

Now Jumpman is injecting new life into the silhouette with a return to that playoff look, with a flashy Electric Green tone subbing in for Nike’s unmistakable Infrared hue.

The Air Jordan 6 Retro ‘Electric Green’ incorporates an all-black suede upper, glow-in-the-dark outsoles and hits of the namesake Electric Green on the midsoles, heel tabs, tongue logos and lace locks.

The classic features we know and love from the AJ 6 – Visible Air, Jumpman insignia on the outsole and lace pockets – return in OG form as well.
