This is typically the most wonderful time of the year. As we should be smack dab in the middle of the NBA Playoffs. Unfortunately with the current climate, sports have been put on hold. Thankfully we’re still amidst sporting greatness in the form of the ‘The Last Dance.’ An ESPN/Netflix documentary miniseries that chronicles the final year of Michael Jordan’s tenure with the Chicago Bulls (1997-98). The miniseries has had watchers glued to their screens for the past few weeks to pay reverence to MJ. One of many talking points each week has been how crazy MJ’s kick game was during that final season (they could’ve done a documentary solely based on what His Airness was wearing on a nightly basis). In the middle of the ‘The Last Dance’ you know Jordan Brand had to turn up the dial and bring the heat for their next release, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Royal Toe.’

At first glance you’ll notice that this colorway bears a resemblance to the Black/Royal colorway of yesteryear. That’s because this interpretation is a direct salute to that OG colorway. Much of the tooling is the same, with the big difference being the White leather side panel and Black Swoosh. The switch-up offers a brighter take on the OG colorway, a perfect blend for the spring/summer.

Pay respect to the GOAT with the Air Jordan 1 Retro ‘Royal Toe.’ Available on 5/9 from Finish Line.
