Kobe To The Lakers
1996– As if the ’96 draft class wasn’t legendary enough with the names and where they went to now what we know today and how their careers played out, Hornets fans might not like to talk about it. That year, the Charlotte Hornets traded their 13th overall pick, Kobe Bryant, to the Los Angeles Lakers for Vlade Divac which may have seemed smart at the time, but man did it really come back to bite them. As we all know, Bryant went on and finished his NBA career with the Lakers and cemented himself as one of the greatest players to ever play the game. Seeing as how the Hornets don’t have any title banners hanging in their stadium, you can only wonder if Kobe would have strung a few up himself if they hadn’t traded him away.
