10. Chris “Birdman” Andersen
Most hoops fans are familiar with the eccentric Birdman whose colorful tattoos and once spiky hair exhibited the regalia of the peacock. However, many may not know that Andersen played for the now defunct Fayetteville Patriots, one of the original eight D-League squads. Now, you may be wondering why Chris Andersen is at the top of this list. Well, Birdman was the No. 1 overall pick in the first ever D-League draft, he was also the first ever D-League call-up with the Denver Nuggets in 2001, despite just playing three games in the D-League where he averaged 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds. How’s that for NBA trivia?
