Four years ago, the very first pair of Flyknit sneakers made its public debut. Following the release, the Flyknit Racer and Flyknit Trainer became the predecessors of over 28 different models. Today, Flyknit technology can be seen in sportswear, running, training, basketball, football, and soccer footwear. What could Nike have cooking in the Innovation Kitchen for the spring?
With inspiration from hightop Flyknit models such as the Nike Flyknit Mercurial and the Footscape Magista, Nike Running is taking a page from the soccer cookbooks to serve up the Nike LunarEpic Flyknit.
The newest member of the family is equipped with a mid-rise Flyknit upper, laser-siped Lunarlon sole, and dynamic Flywire cables. The upper provides a lightweight and personalized lockdown. The mid-rise Flyknit gives a vanishing sensation for a more symbiotic feel with the sneaker while the lateral and medial Flywire cables offer support without adding bulk. The new and improved Lunarlon is now precision lasered for a smooth fluid ride. The geometric pods that comprise pressure mapped outsole adds stability, grip lock traction, and plush cushioning. Each sneaker comes with two different cushioning systems consisting of a 4mm insole and a 6mm insole giving the runner more versatility with fit. Intuitive to the runner, let simplicity be the ultimate form of sophistication.
