MJ didn’t earn the nickname “His Airness” by hanging out on the ground. From a young age Mike spent many days at Empire Park in Wilmington, North Carolina and was destined to soar above everyone else. That divine feeling of flying above defenders and gracefully soaring to the hoop is what inspired Jordan Brand to create the “Dunk From Above” collection. We all know that when it comes to Jordan Brand and their design stories, their vision takes us back to MJ’s defining moments in his life.

The Air Jordan Retro 5 Low has been getting a lot of love this year and this colorway may be the cleanest one we have seen yet. MJ was no stranger to taking flight on the court but this colorway takes aim at a different kind of flight. With aviation and airplanes being the motive, we see a premium white leather base, with contrasting light brown piping, and a combination of metallic gold and midnight navy. Design cues have been taken from vintage pilot goggles and a World-War II fighter plane. This clean color scheme is perfect for some denim and a hoodie or your favorite Jordan sweatsuit. This is one colorway you don’t want to sleep on. These also come in family sizing, so everyone can look fly with matching kicks.

You can pick up your pair of the Air Jordan Retro 5 Low “Dunk From Above” on February 20th on Finishline.com.
