What better way to honor MJ’s accomplishments than by decking out a signature shoe in the colors of teams he beat to complete a three-peat. This special Air Jordan Retro 8 comes as part of the “Nothing But Net” pack that will include later releases this holiday season. The Air Jordan Retro 8 “Three Peat” honors the Bulls’ first three-peat championship season. In 1991 the Bulls defeated the Lakers, ’92 the Portland Trailblazers and ’93 the Phoenix Suns. Best part about it, is the colors that make-up the colorway are cues from each team that the Bulls defeated. The accent colors of Infrared 23, Bright Concord, and University Yellow all represent a fallen foe during the first three-peat: The Lakers (Yellow), the Blazers (Infrared), and the Suns (Purple).
We’ve never seen someone dedicate a colorway to the teams they defeated like we have with MJ. In the past he’s come out with Retro 1s that were donned in colors of teams that he had encountered during his career and had memorable moments against them. We saw colorways that were in Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks, and Seattle Supersonics. MJ battled all these teams through the 90’s and the strong competition led Mike to his path of greatness. The best detail about this Retro 8 is the circular Jumpman on the tongue has been replaced with the Larry O’Brien trophy, which he got over these three teams. Your little ones are probably too young to know anything about the story behind these kicks, but that doesn’t mean they can’t rock them with you since this shoe comes in family sizing.
