What does it mean to be the best?
In the world of professional basketball, one definition comes to mind: All-Star Weekend.
If you’re not a huge sports fan, here’s your 10-second break down: today kicks off with the Celebrity Game and newly formatted Rising Stars Challenge, tomorrow features the coveted Shooting, Skills, Three-Point, and Dunk Contests, and it all culminates on Sunday with the 64th NBA All-Star Game. This annual weekend is about bringing together the top talent in the game and seeing what kind of magic will arise.
While the NBA All-Star Weekend/Game has been around since 1951, it became mainstream thanks to His Airness aka Michael Jordan. I mean, MJ won his All-Star Game MVP, in front of a Chicago crowd, where the East won the game, and he did it all in the Black Cement 3s. How could that not be legendary?
Jordan lovers today still show love to Air Jordan every #AirJordanFridays/#JordanFridays by posting up their heat, tagging @Finishline, then kickin’ back as the kudos roll in. Below are some of the models that Jordan rocked on the All-Star court and some that are all-star caliber. Show some love and tag us for your chance to be featured next week.
Will you be watching for the “Be Like Mike” commercial this weekend? (yes, this is my picture)
A classic never looked better.
Imagine if MJ played for the Wizards in these.
No fear here.
Did you scoop up this all-star edition when it came out last Black Friday?
Carmines or the Black Infrareds?
Playoffs or Aquas?
A Jordan lover’s buffet.
Friday the 13th edition.
The kicks and the views too good.
