Things have changed a lot since Bo Jackson last took the field in 1994 (or if you’re a football fan, 1990). Baseball has gone through scandal after scandal. Football has seen Bo’s Los Angeles Raiders move north to Oakland, where they’ve only matched their 12-4 record of 1990 once since he last carried the pigskin through defenders. Sneakers, well, even Bo’s sneakers are in high demand and often times sell out within hours of releasing. And we’d have to agree, Bo Jackson changed sneakers forever back in the day.
This weekend, Nike will be revisiting the best player to ever play both professional baseball and football (sorry, Deion, we still love you too, but let’s be honest) through a new version of his most memorable sneaker, the Nike Air Trainer SC. Though the Trainer SC is a shoe most sneaker enthusiasts would consider a classic, a modern day version can breath new life into iconic retro models, and that’s exactly what’s happening with the Nike Lunar 180 Trainer SC. Beefed up cushioning, through a 180 Air Unit and lightweight Lunar material, brings the classic style into the modern era. The only thing missing is Bo himself but we know, Bo knows.
