On February 15th, the 2013 NBA All Star Weekend will kick off in Houston, Texas, and the brand with the three stripes will make their presence known in Space City with three special colorways of their top tier basketball shoes. The three shoes that adidas selected to get the All Star treatment were inspired by Houston’s rich aviation history, including speed, style, and atmosphere. What shoes represent that better than the adidas Crazy Fast, the adizero Crazy Light 2, and the adidas D Howard Light?
First up, we have the adidas Crazy Fast, which sports a Green Zest Camo colorway that you could see coming from a mile away. The shoe itself was inspired by the speed and power of a combustion engine, and it will be worn by the big men on the adidas team, including Jrue Holiday and Tim Duncan.
Next up, the adidas Crazy Light 2 is perfect for an all star shoe in Space City, it being lighter than air. Well, not really, but it is the lightest basketball shoe inside our atmosphere, weighing in at an incredible 9.5 ounces. It received the same color treatment as the Crazy Fast, and will be worn by Damian Lillard in the Rising Stars Challenge.
Last, but certainly not least, adidas signature athlete Dwight Howard will be wearing none other than an All Star studded edition of his signature sneaker, the adidas D Howard Light. It’s the lightest one from his line yet, and features an Impact Red Camo colorway unlike its All Star brethren. This one comes equipped with a reflective tongue, and has the same metallic look as the underside of a CD, inspired by the Beast’s love for music.
We can’t wait to see the adidas All Star collection on the court this All Star Weekend, and thanks to the unique design and eye-catching colorways, they will most certainly stand out on the court. All three of the shoes will be available on Finishline.com before All Star Weekend, so head on over now and get your favorite pair before they are all gone.
