1. Macklemore – “Can’t Hold Us”

Right now, Macklemore is “feel good” song king, and this song is the perfect pick-me-up when you’re not quite feeling up to it.

2. Justin Timberlake – “Mirrors”

A solid track for all 8-minutes of its duration, Justin Timberlake doesn’t disappoint when it comes to delivering motivating music.

3. Drake – “Started From The Bottom”

This is a more motivational piece in that the lyrics are inherently inspiring. Nothing like reminding yourself how far you’ve come with the lyrics “started from the bottom, now [I’m] here.”

4. Demi Lovato – “Heart Attack”

If you completely disregard the title of this song, this hard-hitting melody is sure to fire you up.

5. MS MR – “Hurricane”

This is another one where it probably wouldn’t be the best idea to pay too much attention to the title. Aside from that, this airy track would be best heard out running on a scenic trail.

6. Icona Pop - “I Love It”

Need a reminder why you’re running, Icona Pop’s got the answer. “[You] love it.”

7. Daft Punk – “Get Lucky”

You might think this one’s got a time and place when it’d be better suited, but it’s always the right time for some Daft Punk.

So, add these to your music library, check out and grab a new pair of shoes from and get back into the running groove.

If you can recall, a certain groundhog from Pennsylvania didn’t see his shadow, so winter made an exit early this year. It’s spring now, so now’s the time to get back out there on the trails for a quick run around. For some encouragement, check out this playlist of some upbeat and motivating songs to get you through your run.

1. “Thrift Stop” – Macklemore The Heist - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

This song is everywhere, so it’s only right that it’s in your playlist as well.

2. “Suit & Tie” – Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience - Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake needs only a suit and tie to leave it all on the floor, but in your case, all you need is this track to leave it all on the trail.

3. “Daylight” – Maroon 5 Overexposed (Deluxe Version) - Maroon 5

Disregard the subject matter of the lyrics and this is another song that deserves to be added to pump you up for your run.

4. “Scream & Shout” – & Britney Spears Scream & Shout (feat. Britney Spears) - Single -

Taking some time away from the Black Eyed Peas, has branched out to artists in different genres and this collaboration with Britney Spears is the best one yet.

5. “It’s Time” – Imagine Dragons Night Visions - Imagine Dragons

You may get out there only to find cloudy skies and dreary weather, but this song is sure to put a little pep in your step and get you going despite that.

6. “Locked Out of Heaven” – Bruno Mars Unorthodox Jukebox - Bruno Mars

This is another one that has subject matter that isn’t necessarily geared toward hopeful and happy thoughts, but you can’t deny that the tempo is perfect for a brisk run.

7. “I Knew You Were Trouble” – Taylor Swift Red - Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has made the transition from country to pop to a little bit of rock and done it quite smoothly, so adding this track to your playlist will probably help you make it from your couch to the trails effortlessly.
