It’s been over a decade since Carmelo “Melo” Anthony debuted in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets. In those ten years, Melo has become a 7x NBA All-Star, NBA Scoring Champion, and the only other Jordan Brand player besides MJ himself to reach double digits with a signature basketball shoe line. Which is kind of fitting since Melo’s first signature shoe, the Melo 1.5, was dual-inspired by the Air Jordan 1 and the Air Jordan 2 models.
Now Jordan Brand is bringing back this 2003 shoe and giving it with a very 2014 color treatment. There’s a neutral base of Wolf Grey that gets broken up with a Black heel counter and toe overlay while Volt on the interior bootie, lateral Jumpman logo, and spelled out “Carmelo”, makes the whole silhouette pop. This mix of subtle yet vibrant hues makes this rendition perfect to complement everyday gear.
