Since Swizz Beatz took over Creative Direction of Reebok, they’ve been pumping out timeless Reebok Classics like it’s nothing. When we think of ’90s Reebok basketball, players like A.I., Shaq, and the Reign Man come to mind but let’s not forget the Big Dog.
Glenn “Big Dog” Robinson was the 1994 NBA first overall pick, two-time NBA All-Star, and a beast of a player who could sink a jumper with ease or steamroll through defenders. Reebok teamed up with the Big Dog and by 1996, The Rail was dropped. Nearly two decades later, this aggressive silhouette is back again to grace the feet of sneaker lovers and/or basketball fanatics who still have their hearts in the ’90s.
This OG colorway takes arguably the most popular basketball shoe hues and weaves them together in a way that is simple yet eye-catching. A white leather base gets overlaid with smooth black nubuck, finished with a sleek elephant pattern, and blood red sweeps across the upper via the “rail”. Just in time for this drop, Reebok released the second episode of their “The Retro Shop” series and hilarity ensues.
