Chances are that all of you fitness conscious couples out there are used to spotting your partner in the gym and accompanying them during early morning runs, which can be a great way to bond with your better half. However, doing the same routine over and over after weeks can become very monotonous, but fortunately there are ways to switch it up a bit and add some spice back in your duo workout life.
If you and your loved one live close to a river or lake, look up listings for kayaking or canoeing rentals. Both of these activities are a great way to work out your upper body, and they are also extremely fun and enjoyable. Hop in one canoe together for an intimate experience with your partner, or take separate kayaks and challenge each other to races down the waterway to satisfy your competitive spirits. Either way, you and your partner are guaranteed some high quality exercise that is both exciting and fun.
For those of you couples who aren’t afraid of heights, consider a rock climbing session to stay in shape and have some fun with your partner. If you live in or around a large city, there is probably an indoor or outdoor rock climbing facility somewhere close by. For those of you who have done this before, you already know that rock climbing works out just about every muscle in your body, and you might be sore in places that you didn’t even know existed afterwards.
Despite the soreness you may experience, rock climbing can be a lot of fun and a great way to bond with your partner.
Nothing can bring a couple closer together than the great outdoors, so take your partner out for a hike off of the beaten path for a nice alternative to running. Being out in the midst of nature will probably have you and your partner out longer than you typically would be for a jog, so you both can get a little more exercise while also having fun. Hiking not only works you out and burns calories, but you can also get some quality talking time with the one who matters most. If you are a couple who enjoys biking, take the bikes out on the trail too for a little more of an adventure.
If you happen to live somewhere like Nebraska or Kansas where there really isn’t much to look at outdoors, the aforementioned activities might not be the most enjoyable for you and your partner. Instead, look up some fitness classes that the both of you could enjoy. Try taking some dance lessons to burn calories and get a little more intimate with your partner. If you or yours has two left feet, take up a yoga or cycling class instead.
So if your relationship is feeling a bit monotonous as is your workout routine, spice things up a bit and get a little more creative. There are countless activities that you and your partner can enjoy together that will also help keep you both looking your best. So what are you waiting for?
