The 2012 NBA Finals are a bittersweet memory for Kevin Durant. It took only five seasons to take his team from last place in the league to the top of the Western Conference and competing for a championship.
For a player of Kevin Durant’s caliber, it may have seemed like a long time coming, but to just about everyone else, his game has elevated leaps and bounds as the seasons have gone by. Now, coming off of a devastating series of events in the NBA Finals, Durant has come back this season posting astronomical statistics and taking his level of play out of this world.
So, seemingly to go along with that development, Nike is introducing yet another colorway of Durant’s signature sneaker, the Nike KD V, right in time for All-Star Weekend. Dubbed “the Extraterrestrial”, this colorway sports an intergalatic-themed inner lining, lime green upper and orange on the outsole and laces for a look that is reminiscent of something outside of this solar system. With dark green on the heel counter and a textured swoosh, there’s only player with the skills to pull this off, but we don’t need to tell you who that is.
All-Star Weekend is coming up and so is the release of this sneaker, and while Kevin Durant is a pretty down-to-earth guy, these shoes aren’t. If you feel like you want to take your game to the next level, or better yet out of this world, “the Extraterrestrial” KD V just might be the shoe to help you do that.
