Carmelo Anthony for MVP

After finishing last season right in the middle of mediocrity and making a first round playoff exit, the New York Knicks have made an unexpected turnaround, proving themselves to be contenders in the Eastern Conference. Although it most likely is a product of a coaching change and chemistry that has formed among the teammates, a lot of their newfound success can be attributed to the elevated play of their star athlete, Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony has always been a star in the NBA, if not a superstar, but given that he’s playing in the major market that is New York City and that he has taken his game to another level, Carmelo is giving the basketball world a reason to be considered for this season’s MVP title. Putting up a career-high 29 points per game, shooting the best he ever has from the 3-point-line and being the star of one of the best teams in the league further solidify his campaign toward MVP honors.

To go along with his stellar season, Jordan Brand has released the newest shoe in Carmelo’s signature line, the Melo M9. For a season like the one Anthony is having, they’ve pulled out all the stops to deliver his best shoe to date.

How is it the best? Well, for one, it’s the lightest shoe so far in the line. It’s got Zoom cushioning in the forefoot for support and responsiveness and Zoom Air in the heel for comfort and shock absorption. Creeping up the sides are Flywire straps that weave in and out of holes in the upper, creatively forming the letter ‘M’. If you think it’s just for show, think again. The Flywire comes together for a dynamic, locked-in fit for overall lateral stability and support.

For his over-the-top season, Jordan Brand has gone above and beyond, and as the season progresses, we expect Carmelo’s game to continue to advance, launching him and his team into the upper echelon of the NBA’s elite. If you’re a fan of the man, great. Check out his newest sneaker, we promise you won’t be disappointed. If you’re still on the fence, you better hurry up, because the Melo-Knicks bandwagon is filling up fast.
