The NBA season is finally in full-swing giving us a rough idea of which teams are poised to make some noise this year. With the parity that exists in professional basketball, we’ve outlined three teams that we feel have a legitimate shot at the Larry O’Brien hardware. We’ve also thrown a team in the mix that has the potential to shake things up along the way.
Oklahoma City Thunder: Last year’s runner-up, the Thunder are a sure-fire pick to make a run this year. You can expect to see them back in the NBA Finals looking to redeem themselves. If you aren’t a fan of the Thunder, it’s hard not to be a fan of their consummate professional, Kevin Durant. The loss of James Harden will be tough to overcome but the talent on the roster should prevail.
Chicago Bulls: With their postseason run derailed last year due to the injury of star player Derrick Rose, the Bulls will be back in contention this season. The team has learned how to win without their superstar, so at some point in the near future, Rose will make a return to the court, and when he does the team will rally around their Rose for a deep playoff run.
New York Knicks: After making major roster moves over the last two seasons, the Knicks have positioned themselves among the NBA’s elite teams in the early going this season. After adding Jason Kidd to the mix the Knicks are poised to entertain like a star studded Broadway show should.
Los Angeles Clippers: Surprisingly, the lesser-known LA team made the cut as the team under the radar that’s sure to convert some skeptics. With veteran leadership and a youthful core, their bandwagon will soon be reaching capacity. Blake Griffin joined fellow Clipper Chris Paul on the Team Jordan this season which without a doubt will provide enough highlight reels to satisfy even the most complex global marketing campaign.
